“You can't bring the dead back to life, but you can make the words forgive and forget hold hands as if they meant to pass a life together” (Ras, 1997). I would think that we have all experienced this human element in our lives regarding forgiving and letting go in order to move forward. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Ras implies that life is too short and we shouldn't dwell on things. Remembering good memories and letting them go helps us grow and live life better. Ras also introduces the human element into the poem by stating “You can't rely on grace to stand out from the crowd” (Ras, 1997). Grace is about elegance and a skill we all need to acquire as an attribute. We have to find that grace within ourselves and control that knowledge and
