An African American man who faced racism and insults towards whites. He was born in Cairo, Georgia. But, since his family was African American, he had to face poverty, which caused him to experience difficult times, during his childhood. In 1920, Robinson's family decided to move to Pasadena, California. When she was in school, Jackie received many scouts from a coach at the school. In high school, Jackie mastered most sports, such as baseball, football, etc. After graduating from high school, Jackie went to college in Pasadena. Two years later, he went to UCLA. But because of his skin color, the professional team did not include him in their team. Additionally, many sports teams were segregated in the 1930-1940 period. In 1941 he left UCLA and helped his mother. However, Jackie has to join the army for World War II. After his return in early 1945, the Kansas City Monarchs discovered him and decided to play baseball as a career. But since he wasn't playing professional baseball, he had to get used to playing. However, Jackie already had all the necessary skills for baseball. During the season, the Boston Redsoxs offered him a contract. However, due to racist action by whites, the agreement failed. Many sports teams have also attempted to move African-American players to the Major Leagues. However he decided to move to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
