Subcultures are something that everyone is a part of in any society they live in. Everyone lives in some kind of culture; each of us has an ethnic background, a social position, possible political, moral and religious opinions and each of these elements subjects that person to multiple subgroups within their culture. I myself am part of numerous subcultures. Starting from the oldest, I am a human being; I live and function like a human being and not like an animal or plant. It seems a little far-fetched to apply it as a subculture, but it is a proven fact that some groups of animals also have their own communities and cultures. Furthermore, there are also some humans who choose to live an animalistic lifestyle. Also, I am Caucasian or white Anglo-Saxon. This is a large subgroup that makes up more than 70% of the American population according to the 2010 census (2010 census). Speaking of America, I am also an American citizen. These are probably the three largest subgroups that I am a part of and there are many more to follow. I am a woman and of Scots-Irish descent. These and the ones mentioned above are all physical traits that place me in a subculture. There are also emotional and lifestyle factors that include me in numerous other subgroups. I am a high school graduate and someone attending college. I am currently employed and have held many different jobs, from food service, to telemarketing, to customer service representative, to event planning, and retail. Each of these works also places me in a subgroup as others around the world have participated in these fields. This allows them to relate to me and have knowledge that others outside of this group of workers would not have.
