A prime example would be the freedom given to college students. In most cases, in high school, students still live with a parent or guardian. So in many cases the student leaves home after high school and starts college. Therefore the student will not have 24 hour supervision by a parent. They will have to adapt to keep up with schoolwork, as well as to hold down a job. Students are given the freedom to choose how many lessons they want to take. They will also have the opportunity to choose when to take lessons, so that time management will be in their hands. Students will also be given the responsibility of keeping track of their academic workload. Unlike most high school teachers, college professors won't keep reminding you to turn in their assignments. Additionally, teachers won't care if you miss class, because they still expect you to turn in your homework without excuses. Overall, there are many similarities to high school and college, as well as many differences. The two main things we can infer from these comparisons are that workload will increase from high school to college. The second is that the social aspect in college will be no different than meeting someone new in any other circumstance.
