It is strange that such a disease, which could be so easily prevented and avoided, is usually ignored without precautions. Chlamydia can lead to many short- and long-term symptoms. Many teenagers today engage in unprotected sex. A recent study by the Sex Information and Education Council of Canada stated that nearly 50% of sexually active college students do not use condoms (Why Teens Don't Practice Safe Sex.") By having sex with just one person, your spouse, there is a very low chance of contracting a sexually transmitted disease. Having an STD would really scare me as I wouldn't want any of the symptoms to affect my lifestyle, but the fact is that the symptoms can become a constant presence in my life if I were to have an STD. There are many high risks in having unprotected sex, and people need to be aware of who their partners are so that the risk of contracting an STD can decrease. No one wants to contract an STD, so people need to be wise in their decisions.
