Topic > Solar Energy in Solar Panels - 1660

Despite generating electricity with fossil fuels for years and years, there is a much better way that doesn't harm the environment. The use of solar panels does not produce carbon dioxide unlike fossil fuels which “produce huge volumes of carbon dioxide, which is a gas that affects the global climate” (“Solar Energy vs. Fossil Fuels”). With the choice to get energy in a new way that saves the environment, homeowners shouldn't think twice about trying solar energy. In fact, if homeowners collect a certain amount of watt-hours on Monday, that will not reduce the amount of solar energy a homeowner can collect on Wednesday or any other day of the week. They can always continue to gather power. No matter what we argue about how much coal, natural gas, and oil remain buried in the Earth, those fossil fuels will run out long before the sun's lifetime ("Solar Energy vs. Fossil Fuels"). Homeowners should invest in solar energy because solar systems have very reliable technology with little maintenance, offer financial savings and are better for the environment. Solar systems, also known as solar panels, are built to be very efficient and require very little maintenance. The technology has helped improve the appearance and construction of solar panels. Solar systems that are built and installed today must meet very strict guidelines. “Strict quality control in the Modern Solar supply chain ensures that the quality of the rooftop solar product is reliable, durable and meets the highest quality standards.” ("Advantages of Solar Energy"). These panels are constructed using “monocrystalline cells held together by soldering. They are surrounded by a hard glass cover, a sheet of EVA polymer and a paper space... a great way to eliminate this unusable space. Placing solar panels on your roof also gives you the best angle the sun will hit from to get the most sunlight. Unlike any other energy-producing appliance, solar panels are silent. They convert sunlight into electricity without making any sound ("What is Solar Energy"). Everyone is looking for a better way to get energy. Solar energy has a very reliable technology, with little to no maintenance. It can bring financial savings by producing more energy a homeowner might need and you can sell it back to the power company. Finally, it helps the environment by not producing waste, therefore it pollutes less and takes up unused spaces by placing them on the roofs of houses. Ultimately homeowners should try to get past the initial price of solar panels and see that this is a great way to produce energy that produces no carbon footprint.
