Fromm tells us that as humanity continues to move forward, despair will overwhelm us. Which I agree since when you turn on the TV most of the news is about destruction, poverty, homelessness, famine, death and many other problematic issues around the world. To think that humanity is so advanced in technique and technology; however, problems around the world are still numerous and continue to spread. As this happens, people are losing their sense of individuality because they are becoming too consumed by one person, a video game, TV, etc. Today many teenagers become media consumed and buy into everything that is shown and instead of learning to have their own sense of individuality, they accept what society deems worthy. In conclusion I agree with Erich Fromm on the direction humanity is going and
