We've all been there! It's the same with soul food, the benefits also come with drawbacks. Many will agree that soul food is great and warms the soul of the consumer, but what are the disadvantages of eating this delicious cuisine on a daily basis? The one big downside is that most soul food is made with Crisco and other fatty substances used for cooking that are not good for you. Anyone who eats soul food regularly without proper workouts or exercises of any kind has a higher chance of diabetes, obesity, hypertension and other heart problems.
