Ghangis Khan and Timur were two rulers who came from the same region. Both most likely had Turkish origins and spoke the Turkish language. Their rise to power was similar and they had united tribes to conquer lands. Uniting the tribes would mean that one person had to be an effective speaker and both had persuasive skills. They are both self-made men and military geniuses. They knew how to turn people against each other to their advantage. They knew how to fight even when they were outnumbered and the odds were against them. Their conquests made in their respective time periods influenced many world events and continue to shape the politics of Central Asia and beyond. Their legacy is something that is talked about today as military leaders around the world have studied their technique. They have many similarities but have more differences.
