My “ridiculous positivity”, as she put it, had slowly grown on her and we started meeting more often. This eventually even turned into sitting a few seats away from each other at lunch and then slowly starting to talk more often. She still stared at people, but beneath her facade of aggression that would normally warn anyone to avoid her, I found a sweet girl who became one of my most precious friends. In the future, it's easy to see that even the smallest act of alacrity can lead to a variety of amazing results. This might include friendships, just like the one I cultivated with Cassie, and even dependable determination in both school and work. Even my passion, writing, can benefit from a positive attitude, because many times it takes a lot of optimism and the ability to keep saying “It'll be okay in the end,” just to continue and finish what I've done.
