Racism can come in many forms and can be seen in a variety of different ways. Unfortunately, racism still continues to be seen across the country after generations of trying to prevent it. Racism is often defined by physical differences such as skin color. Latinxs have experienced terrible racial barriers, which have limited their opportunities. Latinxs are heterogeneous, regarding their racial characteristics, which vary from light to dark skin and brown eyes. Sad to say, they are viewed through the stereotypical lens of being non-white or brown. Simply being another color has caused racism throughout history. Even in today's society, the perception has been entrenched among various whites that all Latinxs are foreigners, regardless of how long they have been in the United States. The more something is repeated, the more they begin to believe it. Like when the current US president Donald J. Trump called Mexican immigrants “rapists”. Impossible to give Latinxs the opportunity to show what they are really made of and the true meaning of why they came to the United States. Immigrants from Mexico with less education may experience stronger perceptions than an immigrant with more education. But if you really think about it, being an immigrant with more education is more likely to interact with members outside of your group, referring to white individuals. Be more likely to receive worse treatment than an immigrant who is stereotyped and discriminated against due to his or her disadvantaged educational status. Having more interaction with white people could result in more negative treatments where more perceptions will be made.
