The Washington Post. The current government shutdown issue is trending. The Washington Post, a renowned news source, has obviously written to this effect. The article on the government shutdown, and Trump's opinion on the issue, was approached with great caution by the Washington Post. First, the main topic takes on the role of the main theme of the entire essay. The evidence supporting the facts discussed is well supported by credible evidence. The Guardian The Guardian is also another very outspoken news source in the United States. A unique feature of the Guardian, which covers the same topic, is that the piece is short and straight to the point. Another unique feature is that the piece is a bit funny. The Guardian's report is supported by evidence that can be treated as a form of subpoena. The evidence includes a post by President Trump on social media regarding the issue of a government shutdown. This piece is very evidence-based, making it seem like an analysis of the evidence rather than a report. Of course, the Guardian is a for-profit organisation, which makes it a little vulnerable in terms of reporting quality news. However, given the amount of rehearsal applied, it is evident that the piece is very concrete and realistic. Hasson, Peter. “EXCLUSIVE: Trump Not Afraid of Possible Government Shutdown.” The Daily Caller, The Daily Caller, March 31, 2017. The Daily Caller The most interesting aspect of this report is the subject matter. The topic is chosen so that it cannot be missed. The paragraphs are also constructed in the best possible way; short and straight to the point. The issue of the government shutdown should obviously be news and not a platform for personal opinions. However, to some extent, it appears that daily callers are treating the issue as an opinion piece. One factor supporting this is the fact that the evidence is minimal and scarce. Furthermore, the attached evidence is also not accurate. Therefore, the information on the post may not be very accurate, judging by the factors that should be considered. One positive aspect of the post, however, is that the ideas are well organized so that it would be very easy to grasp the main points and ideas without necessarily having to read the whole piece. Fiscal TimesOn the Issue of the Government Shutdown It is important to note that most other sources indicate that a shutdown would be beneficial to President Trump. However, fiscal times suggest otherwise. This is especially evident in the topic the editor gave the piece. With this knowledge, it is evident that any reader who has read from other sources may have doubts about the source after reading.
