NestléNestlé is one of the world's largest food and drink companies in terms of revenue. It is a Swiss company and its headquarters is in Vevey, Switzerland. Nestlé has the function of food processing and production. The Nestlé research and development network carries out research and development activities in order to improve and create products and production processes that ensure consumers' needs are satisfied by the fact that a high quality of products is maintained, whereby the strong competition between other companies, for example Cadbury, is persistent. Nestlé also encourages employees to make suggestions where changes can be made to ensure Nestlé products are of the highest quality. To maintain high quality, Nestlé implements extensive pest control and hygiene practices, and Nestlé also adopts the "Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points" (HACCP system). HACCP enables Nestlé employees to identify a hazard and eliminate risks that may occur in the production, processing and handling of food not only in the factory, but throughout the food chain. In order for hazards to be recognized and eliminated, the physical, chemical and biological aspects of foods must be evaluated. If a hazard is detected, critical control points are implemented and risks are eliminated. Nestlé is committed to ensuring that consumers make good nutritional choices to lead a healthy lifestyle. As their slogan says “GOOD FOOD, GOOD LIFE”, Nestlé ensures that it meets the demands and needs of the various groups it caters to. For example, Lean Cuisine meals are for people on the go or who live busy lives. Nestlé recognizes different social, political and cultural traditions around the world; therefore not all Nestlé products will be the same in every country. Nestlé has developed an environmental and management system that seeks to minimize waste, pollution and save energy and resources at all operational levels. Nestlé has established a "Water and Environmental Sustainability Policy (1991)" which requires that conservation of natural resources and minimization of waste be an integral part of Nestlé operations. Nestlé contributes $20,000 (AUD) per year to help clean or support the environment. Nestlé's contribution to the Australian economy will vary from year to year, as it depends on the net profit distributed among shareholders. Nestlé spends its costs on transportation, business taxes, packaging, and depreciation of plants, animals, equipment, and total company wages. To put into practice the Nestlé slogan "GOOD FOOD, GOOD LIFE", Nestlé has created many community programs that allow people to be recognized.
