Power is a great privilege to have and a person can benefit from power if they have it. Gaining the privilege of power can be misused and abused depending on who it is granted to. Sometimes, if power ends up in the hands of the wrong person, they can use it to their advantage. In the novel titled Montana 1948 by Larry Watson, the power of the law is abused in situations that occur throughout the book. Having power and privilege can have a great impact on your life and the lives of other people and give you a number of advantages. If you are a city MP, there is obviously a time when you can use this to your advantage. For example, Julian Hayden was the previous sheriff of Bentrock, Montana, and he abuses it to gain advantage and so, “He wanted, he needed power.
