The sexual revolution of the 1960s had a great impact on society as a whole, changing and shaping it into much of what it has become today. While this change has provided advancements to society, it has also created new challenges that civilization must now face. Due to the new issues brought by the previous sexual revolution it can be said that the sexual revolution is not over yet, as it is still revolutionizing today's society. We are currently part of our own sexual revolution, which addresses issues raised by the previous one as well as issues that have never been addressed before, such as situations brought about by relatively new media. This revolution seeks to change views on women's rights, sexuality, gender and social media. The sexual revolution is now and is affecting the entire North American society. It is widely known that society is constantly evolving, so it is inevitable that new challenges will cause changes; in a society that can never remain the same there can never be a single revolution. The sexual revolution of the 1960s served only as a starting point for a series of future sexual revolutions. It is believed that since the 1960s, rape has increased in society, and this is largely attributed to the sexual revolution of the 1960s. People think that the freedom given to women during the sexual revolution, the freedom to let them dress and behave as they see fit, is a major factor in the alleged increase in rape. This is a misconception and it has been shown that non-consensual activities have decreased over time in areas that have achieved a sexual revolution. The reason why rape is thought to have increased is because there are now more women chosen… middle of paper… today it is a social norm; the new sexual revolution seeks to make different types of gender characteristics more widely accepted, and to do this the public must be more educated on the concept. The ideology carried forward by the Inclusionism school of thought would be useful for this particular problem because they believe that modern nations must create an environment where all people can contribute to the well-being of society. Today's sexual revolution focuses on equality for all people, not just static males or females. In this context, society is revolutionized through the growing knowledge and consequent acceptance of different gender characteristics. The new revolution seeks rights for women and all genders; this revolution is not completely focused on women, while the 1960s revolution was heavily focused on women.
