Do you think young people should drink alcohol? Mainly the percentage of people who drink in America. Will our youth be able to stop students from drinking? Yes, because we can stop the effect of alcohol. Not everyone agrees on this topic. The enactment of the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 prompted states to raise their legal ages. Purchase or publicly possess alcohol at age 21 or risk losing millions in federal highway funds (GPO Access). We must stay at the age of 21 for drinking because an age of 18 or younger causes medical irresponsibility, reduces the percentage of young people in age and lowers crimes of 18 and under. Most people agree that lowering MLDA 21 would be medically irresponsible. We should save the age in alcohol because it says that alcohol interferes with the development of young people who go towards bad people who go to prison. It is clear that people used alcohol to play pranks on other people by getting them to drink alcohol so that they could be stupid enough in their responsibilities to themselves. Furthermore, later on, adults are said to commit suicide, kill others, or make things unsafe for themselves. The fact tells us that it can cause violence to innocent people and not victims (Birckmayer). In conclusion, thinking about alcohol it is violence that breaks the law. Another reason to prevent youth from drinking is because MLDA 21 reduces the number of underage drinkers. Most people agree that since the program began, the percentage of underage drinkers declined in 1984, when most of the MLDA 21 laws went into effect with criminal effect. The fact was about lowering crime to make it safer with less alcohol. Studies by scientists indicate that when you drink less at the age of 21, it continues to become less risky and calms down. This fact is that the age of 21 drinks less causing less suicide crimes (.Fell). In conclusion, drinking less alcohol can save many innocent lives from suicide or poisoning. Although some people think it's okay to let youth drink alcohol because MLDA 21 is not statistically associated with lower rates of crime. According to a 2002 meta-study on the Legal Drinking Age and Social Problem, 72% of studies found no evidence that alcohol consumption kills or commits suicide by age 18. This fact says that there is no evidence in drinking alcohol at the age of 18 (Wagenaar). However they were wrong because the lower MLDA level of 21 to 18 will irresponsibly allow a sergeant major of the population to drink alcohol during crimes.
