Topic > Should children always obey their parents? - 705

Have you ever thought about what the hell my parents are thinking, there's no way I'm listening to them? I know I have and I think you probably have to. It's because our parents aren't always right. There are always those moments when your parents will be wrong, I mean they're only human. And sometimes you won't want to obey them, even though most of the time you should listen to them. And there are many reasons for this and I'm sure you could think of more, but here are the ones I took from Romeo and Juliet. There are three main reasons that come to mind why you should not obey your parents; if they want you to do something that could cause you harm, if they ask you to do something that you are unable to do, or if they want you to follow a plan or something that they want you to do not something that would make you happy. To start, the first reason why you shouldn't always obey your parents is if they want you to do something that could harm you or someone else. Some parents encourage their children to do things that are not right, perhaps because they have grown up. They may encourage them to bully other children, drink, take drugs, or make other bad choices. In the scene of Act III v. page 889 line 219-225 they don't necessarily want her to do something that is harmful to herself, but something that makes her want to hurt herself. It's when the nurse tells her that she should marry Paris and forget about Romeo, something her parents agree on, aside from the Romeo thing! “I think it's best to marry yourself to the county. Oh, he's a lovely gentleman! Romeo's asshole to her. An eagle, ma'am. He does not have an eye so green, so fast, so beautiful as that of Paris. Beshrew my own heart,. I think you're happy in this second game. Because your first one excels. This is the nurse feeling... middle of paper... everything about him, the man he chose, the work he did, the thanks he deserves. he isn't thinking about Juliet at all, or whether he will be happy with Paris. Which is strange because at the beginning of the play she wants Paris to conquer her so she can be happy. So this is the last reason why you shouldn't always listen to your parents if they want something for themselves and not for you. Clearly, there are three reasons why you shouldn't always listen to your parents. The first is if they want you to do something that could cause harm to you or others. The second is if they ask you to do something that you are literally unable to do. And the last one is if they want you to do something that makes them happy, not you. Of course, there are some situations where you shouldn't obey what your parents say. Works Cited The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet
