Topic > Reflection on What Went Well - 712

After finishing the teaching portion of the lesson, I realized that not everything is going according to plan. For example, in our lesson plan, we had the detailed, outlined explanation part to teach students the technical terms of what they saw in the stations and other activities and to make working with the words a collaborative effort within the groups of the vocabulary. However, the piano teaching was not well executed. Additionally, I learned that teaching a topic doesn't have to be boring or just full of worksheets. Fun, engaging lab stations and interactive activities can meet standards and requirements just as well, if not better, than basic worksheets and PowerPoint lessons. Finally, I realized that planning and teaching lessons takes a lot of effort and work, but it's worth it when a light bulb goes on in a student's head and they learn something new and are excited to learn and extend their science.
