The blood has spread almost to the edges6. The spread is pushed forward in a light, smooth, fluid motion. A bullet- or tongue-shaped strand of blood with a feathered edge will remain on the slide.7. The frosted edge is labeled with the patient's name, ID and date.8. Allow the blood smear to dry completely before staining.Preparation of a thin blood smear: 1. A small drop of venous blood is placed on a microscope slide, using a disposable pipette. For this purpose, a wooden applicator stick2 was used. A distribution glass is placed obliquely and slowly dragged towards the blood drop.3. Bring the spacer glass into contact with the drop of blood and remove it.
