The one personal experience that always gave me the passion to pursue nursing was when I was taking care of my grandmother who was suffering from Alzheimer's disease. My grandmother always told me about what an amazing caregiver I had been to her and from that moment on I knew I wanted to work in the medical field. There have been many occasions in my life where I spent hours sitting at a hospital bedside with my grandmother, struggling for years. And as I sat with her trying to keep her spirits up, the nurses who cared for her always attracted my admiration. I feel like there are a handful of truly inspiring professions and nursing is definitely one of them. I was then able to see the nurse's impact on patients. Nurses provide an invaluable service to society and being part of that group has been an ambition of mine. My impression of nursing has become stronger and I can't wait to graduate and take care of myself
