It is present in every sport and also in almost every age group. Performance-enhancing drugs are slowly becoming more and more popular. In the case of cycling, they have become more popular than the sport itself. As the use of these drugs increases, people continue to wonder when and how it can be stopped. On the other hand, why not just allow all performance-enhancing drugs? I think elite athletes should be allowed to use performance-enhancing drugs. Now you're probably thinking, "He's advocating cheating," and in a way you're right. But you're looking at it from the outside in. To truly understand the problem you have to look from the inside out. As athletes constantly get bigger, faster, and stronger, the sports they play continue to change. Let's take football as an example. There is currently a major issue regarding concussions in the NFL today. Why wasn't this a problem in the 1980s? The simple fact is that athletes are hitting harder than before. Even with advanced technology protecting players, these elite athletes are simply too good. There are many reasons why athletes should be able to dope. Athletes should be free to improve their performance as they see fit. Why not take drugs? If all PEDs were legal, it wouldn't be a scam. This is just my opinion, the book goes on to explain that performance enhancing drugs would not be harmful to baseball. Will Carroll says in the book… middle of the paper… he has one advantage over the other. boy, did he do something illegal? No, in the case of the pitcher and the boxer neither of them did anything against the rules, but they gained an unfair advantage over their opponent. And that's the definition of cheating. So why is this different for performance-enhancing drugs? PEDs are like a city changing the speed limit on a street from 35 to 45. You're still on the same street and still safe. The only difference is the excitement. This book is important to read because PEDs are a big problem in today's sports world. Many people only hear the argument that steroids are bad or that they ruin sports. The great thing about this book is that it shows that the environment that comes with steroids is not necessarily bad. In fact, it could be the boost the sport needs.
