In the novel The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein, Enzo, is a philosopher-type dog owned by Denny, the main character who is also a racing driver racing car. Enzo shows a strong relationship with his television throughout the novel. Enzo uses TV most commonly as a form of knowledge being the terrier breed that he is, however he also uses it to watch his favorite topics such as car racing and the weather. For Enzo, his TV is the gateway to whatever knowledge and entertainment he desires, thus making it one of the most important things in his life.
