Topic > Reflection on the Path to Becoming a Registered Nurse

Completing my first semester of the BSN program proves that I have the power to complete the BSN program, I have had to sacrifice many things to succeed in this program, and those sacrifices will repaid with my successes. • PersonalOn September 20, 2015, I plan to write a journal stating my nursing philosophy toward the care of my patients, following the guidelines of the Keizer University School of Nursing Philosophy (Keiser University, 2014). This will help me recognize why I practice nursing and help me provide better patient care. In February 2016 I plan to buy a new house and turn one of the rooms into an office. Having my own office will allow me to better focus on my studies, because right now it is very distracting and uncomfortable to do schoolwork on a bar stool in my dining room. • Continuous involvement in professional activities By December 2015 I intend to continue to attend all the teachers of the intensive care continuing education courses at my place of work (Florida Hospital Orlando). The courses offered that I plan to take are: Advanced Practical Pharmacology, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms, Nursing Guide to Pain Management, Hemodynamics, Intensive Care Unit Induced Delirium, How to Read Chest X-Ray, Intensive Care Unit Alerts and many others. These lessons will promote the improvement of my critical thinking skills to provide high quality nursing care
