Working in a tertiary hospital, with a large number of patients and limited resources, was a disconcerting situation, however it was very inspiring to see how a little extra effort can bring great benefits to a patient. Treating patients with a variety of complaints has helped me improve my clinical knowledge. Through each patient encounter, I was able to modify my clinical approach. During my internship I found myself as a friend, a doctor, a caregiver, a consultant and, above all, a human being who tried to listen and understand the discomfort of patients and their families.
