Topic > The problem between science and religion - 1304

Historically, science and religion have always had opposing points of view. Science has a mentality based on knowledge, observation and experimentation. However, religion has no concrete evidence of anything, it is based solely on faith and feelings. The problem between these two arguments is that one has hard evidence and the other doesn't. Science can explain the laws of gravity: if an object is dropped, it will fall. Religion is capable of explaining an individual person's experience with a supernatural being. While science has laws of nature that everything follows, religion deals with everything outside of these laws of nature. Therefore, it is understood that, thanks to the great achievements of science, religion has been able to make important changes from where it began. Over the last 2000 years, science has significantly influenced the course of religion with the judgment of Christians on the stories of the Bible, in particular there have been great contradictions in the literal interpretations of the beginnings of the Earth, Noah's flood and the origin of 'man. Until recently the Bible was read literally, word for word. In doing so, this meant that the universe was created in seven magical days, a huge flood marred the world and all its people (except one family), Jonah was eaten and spat out by a whale, and that each of we should be stoned for eating that delicious piece of bacon this morning. Basically, nothing in the Bible follows any law of nature. In fact, according to Life's Big Questions, science is believed to completely contradict everything the Bible has to say. (The Big Questions of Life) Considerably, LBQ studies in great detail the beginning of the Earth as well as the Earth evolving to bring about... half of the paper... a different number of individuals, making it impossible in fact these two individuals , regardless of when they lived, were the beginning of man. (Coyne) Thanks to numerous technological improvements, science has become an amazing subject that has allowed scientists to study the exact particles that make up our world. Science eventually influenced religion, so all religious beliefs are now being re-examined and reinterpreted. Science has proven that the Bible is no longer to be taken literally. Rather than being divided into 24-hour periods, the seven days of Creation may be referred to as eras, epochs, eons, or other long periods of time. The Great Flood may not have covered the entire planet, but perhaps a huge amount known to the author. Like any legend, the stories passed down are often exaggerated over and over until they become completely incongruous..
