In 2012, nearly 205,000 people were employed as physical therapists in the United States. The average salary of a physical therapist in 2012 was $79,860 per year. It is estimated that the number of jobs will grow by 36% in the period 2012-2022. This physical therapy job involves many and very important tasks to meet the needs of their patients. It requires many different educational requirements and you must have strong people skills. A physiotherapist has many important tasks. One of the tasks of a physical therapist is to examine the patient's movement by having him perform a series of exercises. These exercises include walking and standing or moving the lesion. After examining the patient, they plan a care plan for the patient. The treatment plan is different for each patient. Another duty of a physical therapist is to use exercises, stretches, hands-on physical therapy, and equipment to relieve pain, increase mobility, prevent further injury or pain, and facilitate the patient's health and well-being. Also to educate the family on what to expect from the recovery process. The average salary of a physical therapist is $79,860. Some other jobs that fall into the same “career group” are speech pathologist, occupational therapist, pedicurist, flexibility/strength coach, and audiology. Physiotherapists usually work in private offices and clinics, hospitals and nursing homes. A physical therapist has many important responsibilities, but I think the tasks listed are the most important. To be a physical therapist requires some education and training. To be a physical therapist you must have a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. It takes three years to earn the DPT degree. You also need to be licensed by the state. A little bit of high school... mid school... that's a great education/training and unique traits. The primary education needed to become a physical therapist is a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT). Being compassionate, attentive to detail, dexterity, interpersonal skills, physical stamina, and resourcefulness are important characteristics to be a successful physical therapist. Being a physical therapist is hard work and I now have full respect for the people who do this job.
