IntroductionThe issues of economic inequality and class division are taking hold in developing countries around the world. Karl Marx is known for his extensive works on these issues and his theories have been an informative source for many researchers to understand the process of social stratification and class conflicts. However, Marx does not specify what economic power is manipulated by the "bourgeoisies". Bourdieu and Weber stated that power is not simply the manipulation of the mode of production and the working class, but is a different tool (George, 2001). This tool is probably granted by different institutions to people, but this notion is contested among social theorists. Bourdieu argues that economic tools are given to people through government and government collaborators, and political economy is the preceding force in a spatial sense based on the theory of Habitués (Bourdieu, 1986). This essay is a preliminary attempt to investigate one dimension of how these tools are the manifestation of the economic identity strength of society compared to others through the use of these tools. This article focuses on the nature of these tools in the context of Emirati society and the function of such tools in shaping the identity of the beholder, given the close and intricate connection between such tools and society. Theories of stratificationBourdieu's approach to class embodies his agitatedly relational conception of social life. Other theorists, for example Marx, believe that the reality of social life is based on heterogeneity and unequal relations between the upper class and the middle class in a broad... middle of paper... egregation between the national class and non-national and could be a tool to expand and express national economic powers and emphasize the economic status of the Emirates (Al Mury, 2010). In conclusion, as the UAE is a great layout to apply some of the stratification such as Bourdieu's theory of Habitués and Weber's Typology theory of classes and Marx's theory of class division based on economics, the production system it is significant and deterministic compared to all other aspects of society (Chan & Goldthorpe, 2007). I will use UAE citizens as a case study to see whether economic powers are given and created to the UAE citizen to express their economic powers through economic opportunities (the tools) or whether UAE citizens have a cultural influence in creating their economic identity segmentation as a way to distinguish themselves from others.
