There are many youth ministries created around the world and they are designed to reach different communities. It is important for youth leaders to humble themselves and study the youth ministries that have previously been trained before them to study what might work for them in ministry. This is similar to students observing the functioning of their supervisor and learning to effectively lead the ministry they are training with. They will learn ways their supervisor works that may work for them, and they will also discover systems that may not be perfectly set up for them. Youth leaders must feel the same way. As they look at the different ministries before them, they should study what will work for the students they serve and what will not work, to create an effective youth ministry. Below are three youth ministries that have been studied in terms of ministerial statements, programs and levels of outreach. Chosen Youth Ministry http://chozenteens.org/This youth ministry is a product of Second Ebenezer Church in Detroit, Michigan. On the home page of this ministry's website you would find in the titles the events that occur weekly, a summer event, a retreat, and an event that will take place through them. Youth ministry leaders incorporated into their “who are we” section that they are “a unique group of teenagers who are proud to be different,” clearly outlining their statement. To be accessible to this modern technological generation, they incorporated the Twitter names of the group and the leader. You can also find all the listings of upcoming events on the home page, which in recognition of the holidays include a Christmas event. There is a news section that contains information about scholarships and funding... in the center of the paper... and a ministry for young adults that allows them to grow in a deeper and more mature faith with God. Understanding the other youth Ministries' mission statements, studying their programs, and exploring the positive and negative effects of how these ministries have chosen for their projects are important for effective leaders. This provides an opportunity to form ideas for your own ministry. By taking into consideration the location of one's ministry and the group being addressed, a youth leader can form an effective youth ministry focused on young people at all levels of Christianity. In this study there are advantages to the way these ministries were created. There were also several limitations. It is a learning experience to study different youth ministries and create a unique ministry for those you are ministering to in your community.
