Topic > Evaluating Teachers and Students - 1655

Different opinions arise when it comes to who should evaluate teachers' performance as they educate students. While teachers have the proper training needed to deliver classroom instruction, some lack the skills to present material that students can fully understand. In an effort to help students learn the course material, the idea of having students evaluate and grade their teachers' performance has been suggested. This idea might be useful to teachers who need opinions on how to reach slower students and who welcome helpful criticism. However, the entire evaluation should not be based solely on students' opinions. Teacher evaluations should not be done solely by students. However, if students filled out the 10% teacher evaluation, which stated the student's opinion of the teacher's performance, this could be constructive for both teachers and students. Louisa Coburn said, “Students are the primary source of information about the learning environment, including the ability of teachers to motivate students for continuous learning, the relationship or degree of communication between teachers and students.” Another suggestive idea about evaluating teachers is letter grades for their performance. This would be given by the students. This could also be potentially beneficial. In both cases, this would allow teachers to understand what students think about the teacher's teaching materials. Teachers do not always meet the needs of individual students. Providing students with a way to express opinions about their teachers' performance helps teachers develop flaws in their teaching habits. However, the controversy about grading, grading and evaluation is that students do not have enough knowledge on how to properly perform… middle of the paper… inking students' education for the future should be the number one priority priority to educators.
